Your privacy matters to us
We are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following data when you use Raktamitra: • Account data: name, email address, profile photo. • Health data: blood group, last donation date, donation history. • Location data: city or district (with your permission) for proximity matching. • Device data: IP address, device type, and OS for security and analytics.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to: • Match blood donors with recipients based on blood group and location. • Send push notifications for urgent blood requests near you. • Improve the App through aggregated, anonymised analytics. • Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.
3. Data Sharing
We never sell your personal data. Limited sharing occurs: • With other users: your name and blood group are visible in donation matches. Your exact location is never shared — only approximate area. • With service providers: cloud infrastructure (AWS/CloudFlare) under strict data processing agreements. • With authorities: only when legally required.
4. Location Data
Location access is optional and used exclusively for finding nearby donors and recipients. You can withdraw location permission at any time through your device settings. Withdrawing permission limits proximity-based matching but does not disable other App features.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Donation history is retained for 5 years to support medical traceability. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security.
6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Authentication is handled by Firebase with industry-standard token management. We conduct periodic security audits. However, no system is 100% secure — please use a strong password and keep credentials private.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: • Access and download a copy of your personal data. • Correct inaccurate data. • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten"). • Object to or restrict processing. To exercise any right, contact support@raktamitra.app.
8. Children's Privacy
Raktamitra is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has registered, we will delete the account promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you via in-app notification before material changes take effect.
